Community Voices Heard is building a powerful organization of low-income people of color to fight for racial and economic justice in Westchester County. After a year-long County-wide expansion effort, CVH-Westchester currently has active leadership hubs in White Plains, Yonkers, Peekskill and Ossining, with plans to grow additional hubs in Mt Vernon, New Rochelle, Port Chester and Mt Kisco. CVH member-leaders from across the county have created a Westchester People's Agenda which they launched in October of 2014. The People's Agenda demands truly affordable housing and access to jobs for Westchester's low-income residents. Since launching the agenda, CVH member-leaders have already fought for and won a $1 million increase in county funding for childcare subsidies and after-school programs and have "banned the box" that asks job applicants whether they have been convicted of a felony on city applications in Yonkers and White Plains. In June of 2015, CVH-Westchester member-leaders held a People's Assembly to Combat the Housing Crisis. Member-leaders are now pushing forward a long-term campaign to fight for truly affordable housing and against gentrification in Westchester County.
Join us as we become an unstoppable force to be reckoned with in Westchester County!

I have lived in New York for 37 years and in my community of Yonkers for 23 years. The changes I have seen within my community of Yonkers is the education level has decreased and kids are not learning the amount they are supposed too. Upcoming generations are not excelling and the youth are not able to move upward. Overall, everything about this town has gone backwards.
Hello CVH Extended Family,
After almost 16 years at Community Voices Heard (CVH), I have decided that it’s time to pass the torch and allow for new leadership at the organization….and a new chapter in my own life as well.
Dear Community Voices Heard Members and Friends,
The Board of Directors of Community Voices Heard and CVH Power, want to thank you for all you do to make CVH a powerful force for low-income people across New York State.
