May 2012: Statement in Response to Gov. Cuomo's New Prohibition on Fingerprinting Food Stamp Recipients

In May 2012, Governor Andrew prohibited cities in New York from fingerprinting people applying for Food Stamps, a practice that was particularly widespread in New York City, where Mayor Michael Bloomberg supported the practice.  Ann Valdez, a leader in the Building the Workforce Campaign, released the following statement in response to the Governor's announcement.
